Why is clean energy important?
The urgent need to curb greenhouse gas emissions and reverse anthropogenic climate change has led to the emergence of many new and exciting fuel and energy conversion processes. The Hanson Research Group conducts the fundamental research needed to understand and optimize these next-generation, clean-burning fuels and energy technologies. By leveraging our expertise in laser sensor design, spectroscopy, chemical kinetics, and gas dynamics, we enable accelerated sustainable fuel design, a better understanding of novel fuel-production processes, monitoring of atmospheric emissions, and insight into the ignition and emissions characteristics of fuels derived from a variety of sustainable feedstocks.
