AIAA SciTech 2023 paper recognized
A paper by Hanson Group researchers won the Outstanding Paper award for ground testing
Peter Finch, a senior PhD candidate in the Hanson Research Group, was awarded an Outstanding Paper Award by the Ground Testing Technical Committee at the 2023 AIAA SciTech forum. The paper he presented, entitled "Near-Body Measurements in Hypersonic Wedge Flows in the T5 Reflected Shock Tunnel by Tunable Diode Laser Absorption Spectroscopy", is part of a collaboration with researchers at Caltech and the University of Minnesota focused on characterizing non-equilibrium effects in hypervelocity flowfields by combining experimental measurements with simulations.
